PLATINUM FRIENDS

Friends, the Reprise Records release featuring music heard on and inspired by the smash NBC-TV comedy series, has been certified platinum by the R.I.A.A., signifying sales in excess of one million units.

The album features the hit theme from Friends, "I'll Be There For You" by the Rembrandts, "Good Intentions" by Toad The Wet Sprocket and tracks by k.d. lang, Barenaked Ladies, Lou Reed, Pretenders, R.E.M., Joni Mitchell, Hootie & The Blowfish, Paul Westerberg, Grant Lee Buffalo and others.

"The success of the Friends album is a perfect example of the exciting new synergy that is evolving in the entertainment industry," remarked Reprise Records President Howie Klein. "We here at Reprise worked very closely with everyone at Warner Bros. Television, NBC, the Friends production company Bright, Kauffman & Crane and all the show's cast members.
