2000 Miles

The secret of this one is the fingering of this repetitive sequence, picked
in 'waltz' time (eg: 123123123123) - this is the key to the whole song and
must be right! This was gleaned after studying the "Isle of View" video
for quite some time...

start with D/Dsus4...
                                   -------repeat---------
E----------2-3-0-------2-3---------2-3-0-------2-3--------------------------
B----------------3---------3-------------3---------3------------------------
G------------------2-----------------------2--------------------------------
D----------------------------0-----------------------0----------------------
A--------------3-----0---------2-------3-----0---------2--------------------
E--------------------------3-----3-----------------3-----3------------------

Fingering: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N

A Start with a simple D, 1st on G fret 2, 2nd on top E fret 2,
  and 3rd on B at fret 3.

B Pinky on top E string 3rd fret
C cross 2nd finger from top E string to A string, let A string ring
  until point D
D return 2nd finger from A string to top E string 2nd fret
E pinky
F move 1st & second fingers to A string fret 2 & low E fret 3
G this note is pretty soft
H Keep low E string ringing, move 1st finger to top E fret 2

I pinky
J move 2nd to A string 3rd fret, & 1st finger to G string 2nd fret
K move 2nd finger to top E string fret 2
L pinky
M move 1st finger to A string fret 2, 2nd finger to low E fret 3
N Keeping low E string (2nd finger) ringing, move 1st finger to top E fret 2

(repeat from step I until bridge)

You should hear a descending bass like this:

count 123123123123123123123123
          C A G.....C A G.....

As the band comes in after verse 1, Adam concentrates on the D/Dsus4 with a
plectrum, omitting the bass run.

The chorus is:

G C D C D G D/Dsus4 (repeat as above)
I hear children singing, this must be Christmas time...
